Integration with SCOM and SNMP
Neverfail now adds enterprise-level service monitoring with support for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) as well as the more traditional Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). Through the use of either of these reporting mechanisms, systems administrators can gain a complete view of the health of their Neverfail-protected servers from within their existing enterprise monitoring application
The Neverfail SCOM module introduces reporting on application availability, cumulative system downtime, data change rate, and replication throughput. Administrators can see at a glance, or receive automated notifications, if there are any availability issues with the protected applications. Admins can also drill down into availability graphs to see a historical record of application availability. From a data perspective, the Neverfail SCOM module also tracks historical information on the amount of protected data changing on a server, the replication throughput to the secondary servers, as well as the data compression ratio being obtained with the WANsmart bandwidth optimization module
Neverfail’s availability solutions also includes support for SNMP monitoring, which means administrators can now integrate Neverfail with their systems management tool of choice, such as HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli, CA Unicenter, and SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor (NPM) to name a few. The SNMP traps included with the Neverfail engine provide status indicators that allow system administrators to quickly asses the state of a Neverfail-protected server. Whether running normally, running in a warning condition, or running after a failover to secondary servers, application health is immediately visible regardless of the enterprise monitoring tool in use.
