Continuous Data Protection
Protecting Data Availability Across All Applications.
For mission-critical applications nothing short of continuous application availability will do. But for some applications protecting the data is sufficient. While backup cycles may give a level of operational protection against data loss, the effort to rebuild databases will take time. Also the protection of the data could be compromised if the backup is not automated and self-configuring.The right approach to continuous data protection is to ensure that a known state of information can be made available to the business applications that need it. Using a continuous replication approach to provide a current copy of data in a separate location forms the starting point.
But replication alone doesn’t guard against data corruption, it’s important to have data rollback protection should corruptions occur. This means being able to dial-back to a specific point in time.
In many organizations critical data resides on a multitude of storage types. SAN, NAS, JBOD, DAS and other types of storage may be involved.
Neverfail provides Continuous Data Protection where data is stored on many different tpes of storage. Using Neverfail for host based (or server based) replication combined with data rollback will ensure continuous data protection of business information.
