Neverfail Announces Free Webinar to Help Companies Prepare for Disasters and Ensure Continuity of Business-Critical Applications

AUSTIN, Texas – Oct. 19, 2005 – The Neverfail Group (Neverfail), a leading global software company providing affordable data protection, high availability and disaster recovery solutions designed to keep users connected to business-critical applications, today announced a free webinar to help IT managers prepare for and minimize the effects of a disaster.

According to the 2005 IT Industry Trends Study conducted by Windows IT Pro Group, the largest independent Windows IT community in the world, business continuity is the second-highest priority in the IT industry this year, coming in just behind security. And while major disasters have been big news lately, it’s the "minor" disruptions – such as failures in the operating system, a hardware component, a software application or somewhere within the network – that result in losses in productivity and revenue for businesses each year. Such interruptions can directly affect the bottom line; Ferris Research estimates that six hours of unplanned email downtime in a 250-person business results in $57,000 in productivity losses. And according to Gartner, 93 percent of all companies that experience a major loss of data are out of business within five years.

"If employees don’t have access to critical applications, if customers can’t place their order or if data is lost, the company loses productive time, revenue and even relationships," says John Posavatz, vice president of product services for Neverfail and webinar co-presenter.  "Downtime is devastating – and yet many organizations do not have high availability systems in place. That’s a big risk to take when 24x7 application availability is an expectation."

Posavatz will present "Expect the Unexpected: Disaster Recovery for your Microsoft Server Environment" along with Dr. Jeffrey Williams, founder and president of Binomial International, a business continuity and disaster recovery planning consulting firm. Dr. Williams is a regular speaker at such venues as the Disaster Recovery Journal Conference, the Association of Contingency Planners, World-Wide Conference on Disaster Management and the Risk and Insurance Management Society Conference.

Topics to be covered during the Neverfail Webinar include:

  • Key elements of a disaster preparedness plan
  • Differentiating alternative solutions in the market place and determine what works for you
  • Ensuring seamless recovery of your key systems and data, regardless if one server or the whole site fails
  • Keeping your users continuously connected and keep business up and running
  • Benefits of real-time, cost-effective High Availability and Disaster Recovery
