Neverfail TertiaryTM
Combining High Availability and Disaster Recovery in
One Integrated Solution
Until now, organizations wanting the deepest level of high availability protection and the security of remote-site disaster recovery have had to make compromises on which was more important.
Using a high availability server locally to provide seamless failover in the event of application or component failure delivers the best user experience. Continuous Availability is achieved with the user unaware of IT issues; however, the business remains exposed to the wider issue of site failure.
The alternative is to place a disaster recovery server remotely that protects against site failures. It will still be able to protect against application and component issues but at the cost of a delayed user experience, higher bandwidth costs and less flexibility for dealing with planned maintenance.
Neverfail Tertiary changes all this by extending this architecture to use of three servers, or a trio.
The software manages this trio of servers, in harmony with WAN optimization through Neverfail WANSmartTM, to ensure that if any of the servers or applications in the trio are taken down, the user is unaffected and business continues to operate despite IT downtime.
Neverfail Tertiary maintains a replication and monitoring chain between the three servers to ensure a copy of the application and its data is always available locally and remotely. Should the replication chain be broken, (for example by a failover, power outage or planned maintenance) Neverfail Tertiary will automatically reconfigure the chain.
When normality is restored, Neverfail Tertiary will revert to the original configuration. The whole process is configured and controlled through an intuitive management console which reduces implementation and ongoing management costs.
This approach ensures the deepest level of protection against the broadest level of threats all in one solution, managed by one interface.
