Physical, Virtual and Cloud
Making best use of current and future platforms
Virtualization continues to be a driving factor in server rooms large and small. Tier-1 applications are being virtualized, and they need an application aware layer in the virtual availability stack. For other organizations I/O and memory intensive applications such as databases and email servers will remain on physical servers for the foreseeable future. And with Cloud benefits on the horizon it is imperative to select a continuous availability solution that embraces physical, virtual and cloud architectures.
Application aware
While virtual platforms provide a resilient approach to hardware and site failures, Neverfail provides a unique application aware approach that spans physical and virtual platforms. With Neverfail even a fully virtualized, SAN based vSphere cluster can gain application awareness to give a highly focused continuous availability platform.
Resilience and reliability whatever the platform
Neverfail provides high availability and disaster recovery irrespective of whether applications are running on Physical or Virtual platforms. It can be deployed with protection in the cloud, where heterogeneous replication and WAN optimization come into their own.
Neverfail provides P2P, P2V, V2V, P2C, V2C and many other combinations of protection to ensure that applications on existing and future platforms can be protected and embraced as part of a continuous availability strategy.
Shared nothing for maximum flexibility
An application on a physical server can failed over to a virtual server locally for high availability or an application on a virtual server can be failed over a wide area network to a physical server for disaster recover. This flexibility doesn’t rely on shared storage architectures. In fact this shared nothing approach means high availability and disaster recovery can be delivered immediately without requiring hardware refresh projects which only deliver limited business continuity value.
Optimized for virtual
Neverfail includes deployment options that leverage virtual platforms and their high availability tools. For example vSphere's high availability options can be control directly through vAppHA to deliver application aware high availability.
Where multiple physical applications can be protected through a single virtual host, vXtender gives the most cost effective way of doing this, and it reduces risk and disruption when the application is finally moved to the virtual platform.
Into the cloud
Neverfail's ability to carry out server based replication, whatever the storage platform, opens up cloud based solutions for disaster recovery. When combined with de-duplication based WAN acceleration this is the most cost effective and flexible approach.
