Martin Mackay
Chief Executive OfficerMartin Mackay was appointed CEO of Neverfail in September 2012. Martin joins Neverfail to lead the company in a new phase of growth and innovation and comes with more than 23 years of technology industry experience across international markets in a variety of general management, sales and marketing leadership roles.
Most recently, Martin was CEO of Calyx Managed Services that he led to growth and profitability over an 18-month period shortly after the company emerged from administration. Prior to that he was VP International for VeriSign before the acquisition by Symantec and Business Development Director for NorthgateArinso before it was acquired by KKR Private Equity.
Martin started his career with Accenture, spent several years with Dun & Bradstreet (including two years as the Operations Director in the French subsidiary) and spent eight years at PeopleSoft helping to drive the significant expansion of the company’s international business. Martin also spent time working with emerging companies at venture capital firm Add Partners and as CEO of Vecta Software.
In the 1980s Martin spent two years teaching in New Zealand and then a further year working at a university in Mexico. He holds a degree in Modern Languages from Oxford University.
Darren Taylor
Chief Financial OfficerDarren Taylor joined Neverfail in 2007 to lead the company’s Finance, HR and internal IT teams. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and has experience working with multinational companies and venture capitalists as both a CFO and Finance Director. Darren most recently served as CFO of a European-based software company where he was responsible for all aspects of finance, including planning, compliance, investor relations and legal.
Prior to that time, Darren was the Finance and Operations Director for Prince Sports Inc. where he setup and managed all finance and operational systems outside of the U.S., structured finance deals and managed distribution channels. Darren’s career also includes serving as VP Finance, EMEA for Caminus Inc., a New York based software company. While at Caminus, he was instrumental in the company’s successful IPO and eventual sale to a leading US software firm. Darren also spent 10 years with the Financial Times Group in senior-level finance positions both in Europe and Asia Pacific.
Before qualifying as accountant and becoming involved in finance, Darren spent several years in IT both as a programmer and as a support specialist.
Paul Dossey
Chief Customer OfficerPaul Dossey joined Neverfail in June 2006, bringing extensive experience in customer support/service management, quality control and project management. Paul is responsible for guiding the company’s overall customer experience, strategies and tactics, as well as leading the development and execution of a cohesive customer engagement strategy across the organization. In order to drive solid, customer-focused results, Paul oversees efforts to ensure that the customer experience is built into every aspect of Neverfail’s business - from sales and marketing to service operations and product enhancements. Paul is also responsible for leading and expanding Neverfail’s worldwide customer support and professional services teams and online customer support initiatives.
Prior to joining Neverfail, Paul worked for Dell Inc. He joined the company in 1999 and most recently served as Services IT Development Manager. In that role, his primary responsibility was managing the company’s global development teams, which supported the Internal Services IT and Dell Managed Services business units.
Paul spent his early career working on Tandem’s Non-Stop computing platform in the financial services industry. He logged countless hours rummaging around the cold raised floor environment connecting up stock exchanges.
Kelvin Clibbon
Chief Technology OfficerKelvin Clibbon joined Neverfail in March 2013 as Chief Technology Officer, bringing extensive experience in technology leadership and product delivery. Kelvin is responsible for the company’s technology development and product roadmap.
Prior to joining Neverfail, Kelvin most recently acted as VP of Engineering at DCIM provider nlyte Software, where he was responsible for all aspects of technology strategy, product delivery, integration and Engineering team management. He held similar leadership roles at FrontRange, which was acquired by Centennial Software, Apertio, Intuwave, and Clearswift. Throughout this tenure, Kelvin managed a number of multi-site, multi-disciplined Engineering teams across Europe and Asia, and successfully delivered over 25 major products, along with maintenance releases.
Kelvin spent his early career working as a Software Architect at Barclays Mercantile and a Research Associate at LUTCHI. Before becoming involved in the technology industry, he also served as a paratrooper and outdoor pursuits instructor in the U.K. military.
Kelvin has a first class academic background, holding a Ph.D. in Computer Science as well as a first degree in Mathematics, both from Leicester Polytechnic.
Nick Harmer
Senior Vice President, Business DevelopmentNick Harmer joined Neverfail in 2007 as SVP, Business Development. He brings more than 22 years experience in the software industry.
Prior to Neverfail, Nick served as the Director of Alliances and Channels at a UK risk management software company focused on environment, health and safety management issues. In that role he was responsible for the company’s partner development and strategic alliances initiatives.
Nick worked for three years as a Global Alliances Director for KVS Inc., an email archiving firm. At KVS he managed the company’s Microsoft alliances and teams in the US, EMEA and Asia. Following KVS’s acquisition by VERITAS in 2004, Nick was appointed Regional Sales Director for France and Southern Europe and successfully transformed the company’s performance in the region. Upon Symantec’s acquisition of VERITAS in 2005, Nick became Regional Sales Director for Emerging Markets leading the company’s sales introduction into the Middle East and South Africa.
In addition, Nick spent six years in a variety of Business Development and Sales roles with Forte Software.
Before becoming involved in the technology industry, Nick was a deckhand on a German container ship plying between San Francisco and Europe, during which time he learned to paint.
Eric Vaughn
Vice President, Worldwide SalesEric Vaughn rejoined Neverfail in 2011 and has worked with the company for more than eight years in total. In his current role Eric has responsibility for global sales. Eric brings more than 14 years experience in sales management and has consistently leveraged sales process and structure throughout his career to deliver results, as well as establishing highly effective channel programs. During his hiatus from Neverfail, Eric was VP of Sales at ReachForce, a marketing services company.
Prior to his initial engagement with Neverfail, Eric worked in sales and management at FrontRange Solutions where he was one of the first employees and developed relationships with key accounts in the Fortune 500. He also helped establish and grow the company’s highly effective channel program.
Eric lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and three children. He studied business administration at Colorado State University where he also was a member of the ranked college football team and played in three holiday bowls.
Ashwin Kotian
Vice President ofProduct Management
Ashwin Kotian joined Neverfail in 2012 as VP of Product Management. In this role, he leads product vision and strategy for Neverfail’s business continuity and disaster recovery portfolio, bringing more than 14 years of industry experience in datacenter infrastructure and enterprise software.
Ashwin comes to Neverfail from a seven-year tenure at VMware where he held senior product management roles, driving very successful product initiatives across a wide range of business disciplines including high availability and business continuity solutions, cloud infrastructure and virtualization management solutions as well as the vSphere virtualization (hypervisor) platform.
Prior to VMware, Ashwin served in senior IT management and systems architect roles and was responsible for building and managing datacenter infrastructure and operations for global companies such as Hitachi Storage Software (now part of Hitachi Data Systems).
Ashwin spent his early years in the industry juggling pagers and cell-phones 24/7 trying to save the IT world from disasters while also banging on the doors of heavy metal music labels trying to get his band signed to a recording contract and a world tour. Ashwin holds an MBA from San Jose State University (in California) and a Bachelors degree in Electronics and Telecommunications engineering from University of Mumbai.
David Friedlander
Vice President, MarketingDavid Friedlander joined Neverfail in 2012 to lead global corporate and product marketing. He has more than 17 years of experience in marketing and strategy.
Prior to Neverfail, David was Director of Marketing at storage start-up Tintri, where he launched the company and helped it from from zero to over 150 enterprise customers in 18 months. David also worked in Product Marketing at VMware, where he oversaw the VMware vCenter Server product line. In this role, he was instrumental in bringing the Neverfail OEM product to VMware.
David has worked in Product Management at Microsoft and prior to that as a Senior Industry Analyst at Forrester Research, where he led research initiatives on distributed systems management and thin client computing. Early in his career, David also worked in sales, selling educational products door-to-door for the Southwestern Company in rural areas of Montana and Idaho, and later Novell and Windows NT x486 and Pentium systems to the SMB market in New York. David lives in San Jose, California with his wife and two cats. He holds a B.A. from Vassar College and an M.B.A. from Duke University.
